Decorating A Wall Shelf For Fall + Video

Hi there! Join me and ill show you how I decorated a wall shelf for fall. I wanted this shelf to be fun for the kids. My girl's love squirrels, so the squirrels were my inspiration.
I started out using raffia as my base (on top of the shelf) and I decided to give the raffia a haircut as you will see in the video. I wanted the raffia to mimic hay. Once I got the look right, I began to add items.
*BELOW IS MY VIDEO*
I found the squirrels at Walmart, on clearance for $1.00, score!
I had this wreath and decided to hang it from the wall shelf hooks because all the colors coordinate well.
I added two candle holders on either side and placed pumpkins on top of each one.
I added acorns, pumpkins, and gourds on top of the raffia.
I love all the warm fall colors on this shelf.
It looks like harvest time on the shelf.
Aren't they cute? Well, thanks for stopping by, hope y'all have a great day! ~Liz

My Autumn Front Porch and Video

Welcome to my front porch decorated for Fall. I will be adding fall mums and real pumpkins and gourds, and maybe some corn stalks, but for now, this is what it looks like.
I love Autumn, it's my favorite time of year. I always get excited to decorate my porch every year. Your porch should be welcoming and cheerful and represent your style.
I added vibrant Autumn colors. I wanted the colors to POP!
I added orange lights in my garland and around the candle in my lantern.
My porch GLOWS at night, it's so pretty. I will try and do a night video so you can see how pretty these orange lights are.
If you have pots on the front porch, set a wreath on top of your pot and add a pumpkin.
I got these pillows at Ross last week, perfect for the porch!
Don't forget to hang a wreath on your door. Fall is the perfect time to add one, if you don't have one already.

Simple Ways To Fall-ify Your Home

Happy Friday, Friends! Today, I would like to share some simple ways to fall-ify your home!
I have found over the years that layering and grouping items is really the way to add warmth to your vignettes. Now, y'all know I'm no minimalist, (I wish I was) BUT even the stores layer their vignettes. The picture above was taken at Pottery Barn. I love how they grouped all the items together.
Adding wreaths is a great way to celebrate the changing of each season.
Same thing applies to pillows, simply change them out with the seasons. You certainly don't want your summer pillows out during fall, or your fall pillows out during Christmas.  ;)
Add a simple Autumn centerpiece to your table and set some real or faux pumpkins beside it.
If you have any baskets or trays laying around the house, simply add some pumpkins and leaves to it for a pretty vignette on any table.
I thought this was a cute idea: Add M&M's to any glass vase and add fall flowers to it. I saw this at my grocery store. I always snap photos when I see things I like and use them for inspiration later on. Do any of you do that when you're out and about?
Fall platters are a great way to jazz up your kitchen during Fall.
Owls are the latest trend for Fall. WOOT, WOOT!! You can find block letters at various stores that spell out things like: Fall, Autumn, Blessings, Thankful...perfect for Fall!
Add pumpkins and gourds to your porch display. I like to toss them into baskets at different heights. :)
If you have metal wall art, a great way to add warmth is by adding a wreath.
During fall, I like to add dried green split peas to my glass containers. It's a simple way to add a pop of color in the kitchen.
I added a pumpkin and some fall leaves and berries. I like to call this....Fall In A Jar! ;)
You've all seen those light-up pumpkins around town. I like to vary my pumpkins at different heights.
Here is another display I did in the kitchen using different kinds of beans you can get at the grocery store. I sat my glass canisters in a basket and added leaves, pumpkins, and gourds around it. In the canisters, I added a pumpkin to each one.
In the family room, I added this wreath to my metal and wood wall art.
You can buy the artificial fall flowers at any craft store and a cute way to add a little pizzazz to them is by tying them altogether with a ribbon, and then you can set it beside something.
In my family room, I have added some big fall plates to the shelves on my entertainment center.
Lastly, I could't help but share this picture. This is our dog, Bentley, taken last Fall when we got him. He was completely "obsessed" with leaves, every time he went exploring, we would find him with a leaf in his mouth.  Isn't he sweet? He is one now, and completely obnoxious, but we love him anyway! ;)
Thanks for taking the time to visit, and have a wonderful weekend! XOXO, ~Liz

Let's talk Pumpkins

Hi there! Many of you will be pulling out your fall pumpkins (if you haven't already) in the next few weeks.  The anticipation of fall, cooler weather, and cozy homes are driving many of us to start early. I am one of them! ;)
Today, I'm going to share a few ideas on how to "jazz up" how your pumpkins are displayed.
Place a few pumpkins and gourds on a pedestal and add some fall leaves and berries. Simple. Festive. Pretty.
Here I have mixed one pumpkin in amongst my fall owls and leaves display.
Add your everyday greenery in with your pumpkin display, it tends to soften the look.
Add pumpkins in with greenery, artichokes, corn, berries, and a sunflower, or two!
If you have a dining room that doesn't get used often, why not decorate the table for fall. Place a charger down, put a plate on top of the charger, and add a pumpkin for a cute fall table display.
Instead of placing candles on your candle holders, place pumpkins on top.
When decorating your hutches, or shelves, add greenery and fall plates.
If you have baskets or decorative boxes, add some greenery and set pumpkins down on it.
If you have a cloche, add glittery faux pumpkins, it adds a beautiful pop of color in any room.
Take your big glass candle holders and drop in a bag of pumpkin potpourri and add a festive fall candle.
Add pumpkins around your candles.
Fill a basket with some moss and set pumpkins on top.
Use pumpkins next to your table centerpiece.
Scatter pumpkins along any shelf using different sizes and styles.
Real pumpkins are best, so add them to your tabletops, so festive! Thanks for visiting!

No More "Cookie Cutter" Kitchen

Hi there, friends! Today, I would like like to share my new display cabinet in the kitchen. A cabinet to display things for every season!
I like to branch away from "cookie-cutter" kitchens. Why not personalize a kitchen to your style and decorating taste, right? So, that's what I did!
I removed the cabinet doors and hardware,  removed the shelves, and then ran to Home Depot for some spray paint primer, and some paint.
I purchased these shelf brackets from Home Depot to add some extra support.
I decided to go with Black paint, I thought it would look good against the warm colored cabinets.
You can see the paint is drying in the photo above.
I couldn't wait to start accessorizing for Fall.
I started with the top shelf and began to layer things. I started with some green floral pieces and then added a fall garland to that. I placed a pumpkin on a pedestal and then added pumpkins, fall corn, and a fall berry garland to finish the look.
I added an Autumn sign, and below that shelf, a Rooster Platter and some pumpkins propped up on candle holders. Lastly, I placed an acorn and one more pumpkin beside it, and whala, project complete!
I am proud to report that my house is all decorated for fall. The only thing left to do is my "Fall Tree" but I will hold off a few more weeks. The house looks so warm and cozy, I have so much to share, can't wait!
Thanks for visiting! XOXO, ~Liz
