We found a house on 10 Acres, yippie!

Hi everyone! Well, we are officially under contract, and due to close June 15th! We can't wait to be in Virginia...home, sweet home!
So this is the house we fell in love with.
This is our first resale home we've ever bought. We usually buy new to ensure things are under warranty and turn key, so this is new for us.
It's an all brick house, 3 levels, completely finished.
The house is surrounded by plenty of trees on rolling hills.
It has a maintenance free deck.
The grounds are beautiful.
It even has a climate controlled wine cellar, and I barely drink, y'all!
Come on in...
I wonder if the wine comes with the house, lol! Probably not!
It was 56 degrees when we walked in.
This house has lots of heavy trim work, which we love and have always wanted.
Check out the huge Palladian windows in the living room.
The staircase splits the master bedroom from the rest of the rooms.
Here is the mudroom. I don't even know what to do with this space, but I'm sure once I'm in, the ideas will start coming.
Here is the staircase.
The family room is a step down and the whole main level is all hardwood flooring.
Here is the office.
This house needs some minor updating, which will lead to some fun projects.
So there you have it, our house to be. More pictures to come...
***Maybe I'll call my blog...the Colonial Home! :)
-----------
On a sad note, I lost my father two weeks ago, today. If you all wouldn't mind keeping my family in prayer, I would really appreciate it. We will have the funeral in 2-3 weeks, and then our move, it's a lot to handle all at once, sniff!

Thanks for visiting! xo, Liz

  5. First off- I am so very sorry you lost your father, Liz. That is never ever easy-whether you are a close knit family, or not. My heart goes out to you.

Secondly- that home is gorgeous and you will have it breathtakingly beautiful in no time at all. I can't wait to see you get all moved in. Somehow- I think you will be changing styles a bit....lol...although this would adapt to whatever you do with it. What a wine cellar! I don't drink hardly at all so I would have to repurpose it for something- xo Diana

    1. Hi Diana,
Thank you. Yes, the the Tuscan style may have to be "tweaked" a bit to fit the house, maybe a bit more on the traditional side. We shall see... :)

  15. Sorry to hear about your dad - tough times!
Your new home is beautiful, and somewhat reminds me of the one you lived in before you moved out west. As for decorating that mud room, I am sure you will find something in that creative mind of yours as well as in your "room of home decor" (hope you will have a closet to store all your decor in this home, too!! Best wishes!

  26. OMGosh, Liz, you do have a lot on your plate. We've been in Europe, so I just got this post. So sorry for your loss and will keep praying for you and your family as you deal with this tragedy and continue to move forward. On a happier note, the new house is gorgeous and cannot wait to see how you put the "Liz Touch" on every room! Good luck with your move & selling your existing Seattle home. Cannot blame you a bit for being anxious to move from the Great Northwest & all its soggy, cloudy days -- and the horrible traffic!

  33. Liz, I'm just checking in to see how you're doing. I know the last couple of months have been overwhelming, I've walked in your shoes...my Daddy passed away very suddenly with no warning a little over 8 years ago. Our God is a comforting God of Peace and He will wrap His arms around you and comfort you.
I can't wait to see how you decorate your new home, but I'll continue to wait patiently while you heal and take time to let things settle.
